VR Responsible - CSR Program for a good cause!

On this World Environment Day, take a minute and imagine, as you take a dip in the ocean, what would you find?

First, you would probably notice that, the old saying “there are still plenty of fish in the sea” is correct. Numbers may be dwindling, but more than 22,000 fish species swim in the Earth’s waters, and they’re joined by nearly double the amount of crustaceans- lobsters, barnacles, krill, etc., You could also tot up about 2 million whales, 18 types of seal, 17 types of penguin, seven distinct members of the turtle family, three of the manatees but, you would also be able to count an outstanding component that doesn’t belong there. Littered throughout the ocean, found in all shapes and sizes, would be 5.25 trillion pieces of discarded plastic.

Vijay Raja a premium group of realtors in Chennai with a vision “to build environmentally sustainable infrastructural wonders around the world” in collaboration with EFI (Environmentalist Foundation of India), a major environmental conservation group in the city, known for its work in cleaning and scientific restoration of lakes in India for biodiversity, restoration of lakes, flora, care of stray animals, a village development program and beach cleaning activities. Joined hands on the World Environment Day and took a step towards a better & cleaner Marine Ecosystem.
A gathering of all the employees of Vijay Raja prominently in the five beaches -Eliots, Thiruvanmaiyur, Pattinampakkam, Palavakkam, & Injambakkam and a thousand volunteers of the EFI organization in the five beaches and also Mahabalipuram which included students, youngsters, residents, senior citizens, early morning walkers and families that visit the beaches for a tranquil Sunday morning all decked up in caps, gloves and bags to pick the plastic wastes in the sands on the beaches around the city, started the activity by 7am and worked with the bright rays of the sun, the soothing sound of the waves in their ears, an ardent passion to save the Marine life from the plastics that harm them  and the satisfaction of having had a part in this moment for a better and cleaner future!
The day was a success because this event was not only built on the motive to succeed but built on the idea that “it is always important to at least try”.
